Pork
We specialize in Berkshire and Berkshire-Cross pigs because they are known for having a sweet, juicy flavor and heavy marbling. Our pigs are raised on pasture and are able to root and forage at their leisure every day, which contributes greatly to the overall taste and texture of their meat. In addition to the pasture forage, they are fed an all organic, Non-GMO, Soy & Corn Free feed to ensure the highest quality pork from our farm to your table.
Beef
Our cattle are exclusively grass-fed & grass finished. We rotate them throughout our paddock system often to ensure they get fresh, nutrient dense forage, which reduces risk of parasites and disease, and also promotes optimal fertility for our land. We specialize in Dexter and Red Angus. The Dexter is a smaller heritage breed that delivers an overall higher quality, leaner meat with a spiderweb marbling. The well-known classic Angus provides a greater yield of tasty meat with a thicker marbling throughout each cut. Our ultimate goal over the next few years is to breed our Dexter bull to our Angus cows to create "Dangus" meat which will deliver the ultimate tenderness, texture, and flavor that will leave you begging for more!
Chicken
At Salt + Arrow Ranch, we take pride in our approach to raising chickens. Our meat birds are moved daily in chicken tractors where they roam and forage, allowing them to exhibit natural behaviors and develop robust, healthy characteristics. This dedication to animal welfare translates to superior-tasting chicken that you can feel good about serving to your family and friends. Similar to our pigs, our meat chickens are fed an all organic, Non-GMO, & Soy-free feed.
Eggs
We offer an array of colored eggs in our dozen-count cartons. From blue to spotted to a rich brown; they truly are unique and delicious. Our laying hens are raised on pasture where they forage for all kinds of good grub, which leads to a nutritionally rich, deep-orange yolk and a hearty, meaty egg white. Additionally, we provide them with an all organic, Non-GMO, & soy-free feed that is supplemented with calcium & flaxseed to promote a strong egg shell and extra omega-3 fatty acids within the egg itself.
Turkey
Our heritage turkeys are raised on pasture where they can roam freely, forage for insects, and enjoy a natural lifestyle. We raise Bourbon Red and Broad Breasted Bronze varieties, known for their exceptional flavor and texture. Like all our poultry, our turkeys are fed an all organic, Non-GMO, & Soy-free feed to ensure the highest quality meat for your holiday table and beyond.
Lamb
Our sheep are 100% grass-fed and raised on open pasture, resulting in a mild, tender lamb with exceptional flavor. We focus on heritage breeds that thrive in our Eastern Shore environment. Lamb from Salt + Arrow Ranch is available seasonally and provides a delicious, locally-raised alternative that reflects our commitment to sustainable, humane farming practices.
